A downloadable game

You wake up, dazed and confused. You don't know who you are; you don't know where you are. The only light comes from the portal nearby and an ominous glow from the mist.

The sounds of creaking doors and shuffling footsteps come from somewhere down the street. There is nowhere to go but forward, and you can at least do that. You only take five steps before you see it. The revolver at your hip seems to leap into your hand as your muscle memory takes over. You may not remember who you were, but who you are now is someone prepared to fight for survival.

Premise
You move through abandoned towns, searching for loot and fighting monsters. Each town is unique and randomly generated as you explore. Complete quests, discover portals to other realms, and learn about your character as you play.

Solo
Ghost Town: Nightmare is designed to be a solo, single-character, tabletop dungeon crawl/exploration experience. You may encounter NPCs, and you will definitely encounter other beings and creatures, but make no mistake: you are alone.

Limitless Exploration
Each time you complete three quests in a town, a new portal appears, giving you the opportunity to move on to new adventures. But don't worry: you can come back to the towns you've already explored to collect stashed items, visit old NPC friends, or revisit a challenging encounter.

Endgame Content
As you explore, you may encounter rare passageways that lead to another dimension: the "Whisper Realm". This is a high risk, high reward area and should not be entered into casually. Special rules about deaths and respawns apply.

Ongoing Character Creation
While you don't remember who you are at first, certain encounters trigger your mind to remember fragments of your past, allowing you to discover more and more about your character and how they ended up in this nightmare.

[Game Development note:
I am currently designing and developing this game. I have a working prototype, and my goal is to do some play testing and tighten up the rules document so that it is presentable for others to play test. If you are interested in seeing what the game looks like and being an early play tester, please let me know! It would be great to start making connections.

My Goals:

  • Record actual play video of current prototype
  • Release a demo version of the prototype rules for early play testing
  • Gather feedback and implement improvements
  • Release first version of the base game
  • Continue to develop new mods and assets for the game and be available for player support and engagement

Thank you for taking the time to read about my project! Please comment below or reach out if you have any questions or feedback.]
